Default How to disengage D.R.L.?

My co-worker bought a 2004 Baja non-turbo and is wondering how to disengage the Daytime Running Lights!

There's a black box on the steering column with 2 connectors going to it.1 is white and the other is black. If my memory serves me right its the white one on top that you unplug.
