Looks really good to me. Where are you looking? Make sure to look at Subaru of Santa Cruz. Charlie Yoe is who I bought mine through and he gave me a great deal and was really great and no hassel to work with.

I thought I saw one there on Friday. But I guess that could have been a sport model, but make sure you get a quote form charlie and see if they can beet anyone else. They have the best "customer for life" program around. Free oil changes for 36000 miles and 10 or 15% off all parts and services for life. They also have one of the best service around the bay area. Charlie would also be able to get a baja from any other CA dealer if they don't have what you want.

23850.00, whoa that's a steal! is that out the door or invoice? You know the weird thing is that most dealers carry a lot of automatics.
I gotta have 5 speed, that's all I've ever driven.

Have you tried the sport shift? I think it is just as much fun. only draw back is that it is only a 4 speed. But it does get up and go just as well as the 5 speed and the thing that I love because I am in the car almost all day in traffic, NO CLUTCH .
Just my .02 worth.

I like to work on cars, call me crazy but yeah I'd do a clutch job anyday.
Ok, I guess I'm old school cos I can't see myself shifting gears without using my left foot. Anyways, to each his own I guess.

Hey gentzleon, so was that price out the door? Which dealer did you get it from?

Wikid, I'm with you on the manual thing. To get boost to really happen and hit the wheels when you want it, you're going to be slipping the clutch. If you're driving a WRx now you know that already.

So controlling revs really isn't what it's about, it's more about when those revs engage the transmission and slamming an auto is going to be way more labor intensive than slipping a clutch! Just break it in nice and easy and you'll be good to go.

Unfortunately, you may find yourself having to hunt a manual as most seem to be coming from the factory with autos. Try to find someone with one on the lot or you may end up paying a premium to get the manual as demand is higher and supply is lower.

It is even harder here in CA. Dealiers can only sell cars intended for CA at least at a liget dealiership. So that means that the dealiers can only pool from the dealiers in CA not any other state. That is what the deailer ship told be when they were trying to find mine.

Yup guys, can you believe I can only locate 2. oh well I might have to wait till next year. I'll be getting my money hopefully on Friday and if I do, Ill be on my way to look at those I've located.
Texas S, you know what your talking about slippin the clutch a bit. I was going to put some exedy on my rex but I'm glad I held off although I was looking forward to working on the tranny/clutch and also thought of swapping with RA gears. Are you an ex-WRX owner as well?

Ben, that's kool man I like that LOL "dealiers" hahaha LMAO!

Wikid;

Yeah, I've had Foresters and a WRX. So many quirks with the engines, AWD, gearboxes, diffs etc. On my WRX I did alot of mods to the engine and was running alot of boost so it made it even more obvious how important the clutch was to being fast. The Baja's pretty tricky (footwork-wise) because of its low-end torque and small turbo, but it's so much easier to drive around town. And cool to pitch sideways... And the engine note is so much rowdier than a WRX. Anyway.

Good luck with your hunt, I see alot of super low mileage Bajas on Ebay.
