Default Check engine light question....

I just got my up pipe and turbo back installed on thursday and today I got a check engine light. I got the 02 sensor welded on , but I am wondering when will the check engine light go off, and does it damage the engine at all with the light on??? thanks

You threw a code from not having a cat. Did you put the resistor in the factory EGT wiring?

It will go off when the bulb burns out, or when you pit in a MIL eliminator, or when you grind out the O2 sensor and do the mechanical fix w/ the probe extendor.

That won't hurt your engine, but you will never know when you have a real problem and a bad code is thrown under your cat innefeciency code.

Searches help alot too.

I got it installed at Precision Tuning and Rich installed an 02 bung so I could plug in the sensor but i still got the light....just as long as its not doing any damage....

Its probably from your up pipe, not the downpipe. Did you you use the 2.2K resistor for the EGT probe?

If not, here is the link to what you need to do http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/show...ppipe+resistor
