Default Spotted: Bajas

Passed a silver Baja on Sunday, the 19th, on Route 495. We were both heading north. Mine's a black '05.

Also spotted a yellow Baja on Rte. 9 in Framingham, headed east (wasn't in my Baja at the time).

First two I've seen in about a year.

Mine, and probably everyone else's gets a lot of looks because people have no idea what they are...

Yeah its that way down here, last week sitting in a gas line of about 150 car's.You could see a least 2 of a kind of every car there, but only 1 Baja. The cop there kinda did a double take on my Baja,i told him that mine will probably be the only 1 in this line that he would see.He said that he's never seen one.We got hit by Hurricane Ivan.Trying to get fuel was unreal,i got in line at 5:30 AM and there was 50 car's already there.

Cool

I was driving to work one morning when I saw another '05 Regal Blue Baja (NT) going the other direction. We both motioned to the other about the nice ride!

Have noticed a few more in the area since I got mine though. But not anything close to the number of other Sabaru models.

In Boulder, you can't swing a dead cat without thwocking a Subie of some form... I'd estimate a good 15-20% of all cars in Boulder are Subarus... amazing...

BUT, I've only seen 2 other Bajas regularly... the Eldora ski resort has a yellow '03 covered with graphics and there is some gentleman who drives an '04 Turbo exactly like mine... which is a little strange sometimes to see "yourself" drive the other direction of the Diagonal Highway...

Not long after I got mine in February I started regularly spotting another red Baja in the Media, PA area, usually not far from Rt 352 and Rt 1. Recently there have been more sightings, a black/silver as well as an all silver. Didn't have enough time or a good enough look to make out year or options. It's good to see more on the roads, but it still annoys me that Subaru isn't doing much (anything?) to market the Baja.

Maybe once I get the NASIOC.com decal that I ordered up on my back window I'll run into some of these other owners here!

I have seen only 3 or 4 Baja's since I purchased mine 10 months ago. However, this past week I was returning from Lansing, MI to the Upper Peninisula and I was passed by two other Baja's. Both were silver, like mine. I gave a thumbs up gesture to both drivers. One returned a thumbs up and the other a friendly wave.

Any other Michigan Baja owners out there?

Yooper, small world, I have family in Lansing, who were originally from Ironwood in the UP. Sorry, they don't own Subies though.

Just saw a red on red on PA 30 today, somewhere between Lancaster and Coatesville round about noon. Still prefer my red on silver, but really like the dark silver over silver.

There's also a yellow/silver often parked at a house visible from Rt. 352, just north of Rt 3. (Westtown?)

Got my NASIOC.com sticker on the back window of my Baja (which does feel a little silly, since it's not an Impreza) so I'll be easier to pick out now. And looking at it through the rear view mirror it even reads correctly! Hey, I can be easily amused...

Default Saw 2 this weekend.

Saw 2 this weekend at an big shopping area with lots of stores. 1 red, 1 silver, both non-turbo.
One was parked and one was being driven by a little old lady?

I've seen a couple of the Hummer SUT's in the area too.

Maybe its because I read this thread, or maybe because Subaru is selling more, but I have seen 4-5 new Bajas on the streets of Boulder in the last few weeks! I was even right behind one today at a traffic light (Regatta Red too!)... I saw 3 in the last 24hrs! Maybe there is hope!

Recently I was on Martha's Vineyard and kept passing another Silver/silver Baha just like mine. Not surprising, it's a great island car.

I see a couple from time to time on 495 outside of DC as well. Its nice to see a few folks in this neck of the woods have gotten smart and downsized a little. The number if Hummers sitting in traffic around here is pretty pathetic.

My son and I both have Bahas , mine is the red and silever his is the yellow and silver , Have seen many bahas on the road 5 in my local area that I see regularly. Seems the other red and silver Baha I see is in competition with me I have the BAr lights ( 2 ) he just put on 4 . My Baha has been up in Maine , Ct. And Mass. did not see another one the entire time I was up there also has been to Mt. Rodgers National Recreation Area in Southern VA. only seen one other on that trip, and that was on RT. 81. On Assategue national seashore we were the only two Bahas we saw on the beach .Also the only BAhas on Cape Cod National seashore .These were all backpacking trips and Our BAhas worked great . We have consecutive numbered Bahas as well as consecutive license plates . WE LOVE THEM

I couldn't believe it. It's been months (7+) since I've seen I've even another Baja in the DFW area at all, and then today I saw not one but TWO!

One of them was on the highway so it could very well have just been passing through, but the other was on a downtown street where really only residents travel. I was so excited I tried to snap a picture with my phone and then realized I didn't have a camera phone.

The only bummer of the day... I wasn't driving my Baja, I was riding around in my wife's New Beetle. So now there are potentially two more Bajas in town that have no idea that mine is sitting in my garage.

Default Passed my twin

Passed the exact same model/color as mine, going the other way, on Saturday on my way to the local ski resort to pick up my season pass.
One of the reasons I bought it. We get to the slopes early, usually before all the roads are clear.

I wonder if he was doing the same?

I may be the only Baja in this state! I see one at the lot where I bought mine, and that's it! There's me, and then there's the rest of Georgia...

I like my odds
