Question Gain anything by removing stock resonator?

I bought what was *supposed* to be a used SPT midpipe off a former Impreza owner (I already have the SPT muffler) ... anyway, when it arrived today, it was the stock one!
Assuming I can't get my money back from this guy, can anyone tell me if there's a benefit to removing the resonator? I ask because I think the main difference between the stock and SPT midpipes is the lack of a resonator (besides being stainless & mandrel-bent). Will it flow any better?

Other than noise... I'm not sure.
Jgard18 ran it that way for a while, I'm not sure what he has to say about it. I do know that he has a jc sports intake now... he likes that (it's louder). I'm guessing a little maybe, but it might be nullified by the hot air your sucking in under your hood. but if you were to go to say... home depot and get few pips and couplers, you could possibly have a cold air intake. Woot!

Cool

Thanks m750, but I've already done the intake, and yes its home made but only the plumbing couplers came from Home Depot

I figured there may be a bit more noise without the intermediate pipe's resonator, but I was wondering if the exhaust flows better without the little interruption caused by the resonator (or pre-muffler as some people call it).

I paid about $25 for a stainless steel J-bend tube from www.jegs.com, and about $4 for the plumbing couplers. I used stainless steel so I wouldn't have to paint it
