('93-'01) Is it me, or is the site really S L O W?

I hope the site speeds up a little with use. I'm falling asleep waiting for the page to load.

Also, when is the "modification add/delete" section going to be up and running again. I've got four new mods to add to my money pit...ugh I mean Impreza.

By the time I'm done modifying my Sube, I could have bought an AMG Mercedes.......

Oh well...the price of performance.....

Well, I have noticed the pages to be a little more hefty then usual. Possibly the culprit is the seperate tables for seperate replies & posts.

It could be hacked & slashed down to size, but there are a lot of things that the admin's are tweaking to get the site up to speed.

A lot of people didn't understand the need to switch to a different type of board, but basically it all came down to the fact that we're getting so big that the old way the board worked was too processor and memory intensive then the new board. Basically we're getting twice the worth on the same server, the software just needed to be tweaked into submission before it'll start to really shine.

Actually, this is the worst the site has ever been. I-Club is experiencing a lot of growing pains right now.

But if you can tell me that this honestly surprises you, then that would surprise me! We all knew that with the sale of the WRX, this would all explode.

Is the site slow for anyone right now?

It's blazing for me. Earlier today it was awful because the server kept giving out.

Readers Digest: The database processes were dying in huge bunches because one would get stuck in the queue and cause all the others to stack up behind it waiting for processor.

The was happening because we were running out of connections because of a limitation in memory on the server. This will be corrected at 5:30 today when we up the memory in the server to a full 1GB.

Yes - site is still slow.

On the risk that I might sound pompous, try cleaning up the HTML presentation. If what 8complex says is true, then tables are bogging down page presentation.

Also, please get rid of post counts! Bring back member numbers and stop the post whores! You know who you are!!!

For me the site is either blazingly fast....or nothing at all....and no in between.

I can't believe how many people have joined. Just a few weeks ago I was commenting on how we would hit 7000 soon. Now look where we are.

Can those of you saying the site is either blazing fast or dead slow explain.

And please note I only mean since about 3 today.

Before 6 some people might have been denied connections because we had to in order to keep the server from going unstable. After 6 though everyone should have a really fast connection.

It's it's not loading fast it's because of your connection. No longer the server. It's running like a champ on this end right now.

But seriously, tell me how it's not running fast right now. If it's something I can fix tell me.

And the HTML is already very lean and very optimized. If you don't believe me, take a look at the HTML of this page.

My comments about the site being either blazingly fast or nothing at all were from the past few days.
The site was either running very well or I could not even get to the forums page. When that happened I usually just went on to something else (I actually had to work) and came back later.

After about noon or 1:00 PM Colorado time today it seemed to be working really well.

I am really enjoying the new site. Thanks for all your hard work.

Ok, since we got the SLOW topic pretty much covered, how about bringing back the "members modifications" thingy. I can't add or delete my mods anymore. I mean, how can I sleep at night knowing that I can't add my 100hp nitrous fogger kit mod, or my Brembo 6 pot titanium caliper mod, or my infinately adjustable electronically controlled center diff mod? Add lets not forget my nitro-methane injector pump????

Ok, ok just kidding about the center diff mod....
