Post TEIN's

Josh/Alex
I finally figured out why i was rubbing on one side and how it was making all the noises and stuff and it came to it that the rear right side was sitting lower than the left. And it's wierd cuz once i took the wheels off the spring height settings was the same on both sides.. so i started checking all sides for nut tightness when i got to the fronts 1 of the freaking bolts snapped off as i was trying to check for tightness.. I guess we shouldn't have used the impact wrench to tighten the front pillow mount bolts last time. apparently the 12mm couldn't handle it hehe.. oh and i bought my own impact wrench.. and taking the pillow mounts off was as simple as pressing a button Oh and for the fronts i used the stock struts large diameter round washer and the rear i used non cuz rear didn't have any washers.. cuz i was a bit effy about the bare strut sitting right under the bearings. so oh yeah the rattlings and sounds from the rear are totally gone now with the stock pillow mounts and the ride is comfy once more. Ok now here is a big question, how do i find a replacement bolt for that TEIN's pillowmounts? want to be able to sale them off..

Not sure where you will find that bolt. Try a kragen or Pep boys, and if you don't find it there, i might have one you can have off my old pillows. My replacements just came in, and they came with them alredy installed. Let me know and I will get one to you.

josh

PS glad to hear you like the new ride. DO NOT tighten the pillow bolts too much. you will snap them off. I think the fronts are only like 20-30ft/lbs or torque or something. be careful.

get a torque wrench. You can set the torque on it so it doesn't overtighten.

I am not sure the GAB bolt will fit, but it is wirth a shot. I guess I will bring it the next time we meet up, unless you need it sooner.

let me know.

the mounts are a pain in the a**, so be careful. did you watch alex install Randy's? If not you better get on the phone with me or Alex. We will need to give you some advice on the proper order of things.

Short shifter isn't that hard, nor is the bushing. The Pulley isn't hard as long as you have a 10 ft breaker bar. Be careful taking out the radiator fans, you can pierce them easily if you aren't to careful.

Be REAL careful putting in the SAFC. You hook it up wrong, and the car won't run.

Other than that, have a great time!

David, I see all of your posts. The reason why I am not replaying is because Josh is doing it very good and I have nothing to add.
