Cool

I'm in. But you already knew that.

I scheduled Monday off as well as Tuesday so I could head up a little early and beat the traffic. What time were you guys thinking of heading out? I always like getting there early. More time to clean up, clean the bugs off the car, hang out, etc.

Necromancer, did you reserve a room yet?

I am planning to stay at my in-laws in Sacramento and drive in early, but if there is room, I'll split it with you.

Hmmm, that's actually doable if you haven't gotten a room yet. They wouldn't mind.

Hahaha, I was only half kidding (still unemployed, close to broke). How about we see if we can get a room at the Best Western and if that fails, maybe go bug your relatives?

Would you mind calling them? I'm flat out of minutes on my phone.

mention Hunpin Toh or HPT Group.

We can take this offline to E-mail if you want....

Hey Skywalker,

Yup, we're splitting the room. Caravanning sounds cool. I was planning on heading out around 2-3pm. That'd way we should be through the urban areas by rush hour and we should hit Willows around 6. How's that sound?

I wonder if that cute chick at the McDonalds is still there? Mmmmm. apple pie.

I'm going too!

Just not sure yet, if I'm headed up the night before, though. Last time I drove up that morning, it took me about 1.5 hrs, so that's not too bad. But for you So. Bay guys, that's a different story.

Later,

So I guess the question is do we head up early in the day like Craig suggested, or wait until the traffic is over and roll into Willows in time to hit the sack? I'm OK with either option, being that I'm unemployed and all.

Well I am taking the whole week off for a few reasons, well hopefully i can get the whole week off. Vacation and car stuff.

So I would like to leave around 2-3pm if that works with everyone.

Ok. So, where would be a good starting point? I figure we could meet at a point the furthest North/East of everybody in the caravan. I'm in Mtn. View where 85 and 237 meet. Skywalker's south of me. Where are you, Necro?

If you guys could hang on until 3:30, I'd appreciate it. I'll leave straight from work in Campbell to meet you guys.

Nope. We leave at 3 SHARP! just kidding.

How 'bout 3:30- 3:45pm at the BurgerKing in the Walgreen's/AceHardware/Smart-n-Final shopping center on El Camino in Mtn. View. Its just north of 85 and south of Grant/237. Its across the street from a Kragen and Allison BMW. We can then head out on 237 right from there.

Bob, can you get out any earlier? I made the mistake of leaving at 4pm from the South Bay ONCE ... never again. Things get really bad on 205 and 80 eastbound.

Otherwise, Craig's meeting point sounds good. I can stock up on trendy Japanese soft drinks at the market there too.

I'll bring the good old American Coca Cola and good tasting San Jose water, mmm mmm good.

Later,

P.S. Should we bring a small grill and cook some veggie / burgers up somewhere when we get up to Thunderhill? Just wondering, something to do....

Hey Bob,

Yeah, if you can get out a bit earlier, that would be great. Eastbound 237 can get ugly around 4pm. Maybe if we could leave at 2:30-3pm. Just let us know.

OK, instead of leaving work at 3:30, I will leave at 3:00. I'm right near hwy 85 at Winchester, so I should be able to get to Mountain View in about 15 min (northbound should be no problem, right?).

Bobski,

That should be reverse commute, so 15minutes might do it.

Skywalker,

BBQ, in 110 degree heat doesn't sound too appealing. But if its cooler, it'd be great. There's that restaurant next to the Golden Pheasant w/ a nice patio area too. But that'd get pricey I guess.

This'll be a hoot!

Oops, Craig posted before I got mine in.

I was just thinking...you guys are coming across 237 to get to I680, right? I can meet you guys at 237 and I680 at 3:30 instead. I can get there directly from my work easier, and you will be able to beat the 237 jam.
