Default what car would you buy?

What new car would you guys buy if not the WRX? I am trying to decide what to do when my lease runs out (2 years) and I just wanted to get some opinions. WRX is an obvious choice, but my fiance just hates the way they look.

I think that I would consider an Acura Integra Type R. They perform really well and are probably more rare than the WRX....however there are regular Integra's all over the place.
Other cars I would consider would be the Honda S2000, Audi A4 1.8T and possible the new Volvo S40 1.8T (for some reason I like the decked versions of that car).

I guess it really depends upon your interests. 4 door sports car vs. 2 door sports cars.

Go for the Mazda Protoge5... Sure it's underpowered and only FWD, but it's purrrdy. (Easily the nicest looking wagon out there!)

Else, I'd say anything Audi. It's a bit more expensive, but it's the only AWD alternative.

Do I here a whip cracking?? If my wife ever keeps me from getting the car I want.......

There's nothing that competes for the price. A lot of the before metioned cars were front wheel drive. Have you all gone mad? The A4 1.8t quattro with the "S" package would be a good project car. I like Audis and Subarus though.

Toyota MR2 turbo, Mazda RX-7, or a Supra turbo. I have always had a thing for those cars, but I am just not comfortable buying used.

Cool

I like open doors like this...

Let's see two year speculation...
Future wife... love child from honeymoon...(it happened to me But it's all good cause now I'm forced to wait for an STi)

I guess you know what I recommend:

4 doors
Audi any 4 model A,S,Quattro
WRX or STi the look grows on you but you can't get back spent money.
EVO EVO E V O E V O nuff said.
RX 8
M3 does this come in 4 doors? No? Oh well sacrifice. There is a M2 planned in the future, a entry level BMW M series. 200+ planned Hp. I read that in a UK mag so we may not see it stateside.

Happy hunting,
Mal

most likely the M3 will be offer in a four door in a year or two but will probably cost a little more than a WRX or any of the aforementioned cars .

I would look at a supra, no AWD but very possible to get BIG power .

Get a 2001 2.5RS and use the money that you saved to mod it. An 01 RS goes for what $15000? Thats $8k in your pocket right off the bat, and it looks good. Go get an 8-10 psi custom turbo done with a TEC-II, ACT clutch, upped fuel pump, and Turbo Back exhaust and you will be flying by the WRX. You should also mod Brakes, Wheels, Struts, Springs, and Sway Bars. In other words for about $25,000 total you could have a very fast, very unique, nice looking, great handling, year round driver.
