Well im so used to seeing people on these forums talking about how their cylinders are mis-firing, they get CELs every couple of miles etc etc
These are the mods I'm planning on doing.. Headers (have not installed yet) - Borla Gen III Mid Pipe (Stromung SS - Installed) Axel Back (still looking for one) - Probably Stromung Single Tip CAI (might have one soon) - Cobb CAI Crank Pully (will get one when $$ starts rising) Perrin Light weight (not underdriven) I'm not going over board with the mods, I just want some more power and a cool noise. My car: 03 RS ... 19K miles, pretty well taken care of .. not driven hard.. Should I worry with those parts? and What parts should make me worry? -Allan

Depending on what headers you get, you may get a CEL. Then as log as you dont get an underdriven pully, you should mess up your alternator or power steeering. Otherwise, you should be good to go.

The only thing that may get you into trouble is the borla header. Because it is not coated oor heat shielded like the stock, it doesn't keep the exhaust gases hot for the cats to go at the CO2 and others. Other than that it should all be good.

are you sure its in n/a that they post this? I can see this would be a problem in like FI 2.0... when people do staged upgrades that include larger turbos and no proper emi.

You'll be fine... even if you get a CEL, its not necessarily anything to worry about.

i have that exact set up, and no CELs.
i have the newest borla header stromug cat back mr josh pully cobb intake i also have a grounding kit. i have a 03 RS with about 20k miles on it and it runs like a champ. i am soon putting on a random cat on it, to see if it helps with the power. Shane |

Thanks for the heads up guys, I think i'll look in to wrapping the headers, since it does get pretty cold here.
