Question Help me pick an exhaust!

Ok everone, I need your help! I need to find an exhaust that I would be happy with. All are cat back. I am currently looking at the N1 style from [edit sp] http://www.jcsportsinc.com in 2.25" size, the Borla at http://www.spomotorsports.com , the Stromung from http://www.stromung.com (I don't know what style yet), the rallispec from http://www.rallispec.com , the Brospeed from https://ssl.autocenter.net/webparts/...haust_505.html , and the magnaflow from http://www.magnaflow.com .

I am looking for some performance gains, mainly I want it for deep sound, I hate the whine that Honda's emit. I want deep but not too loud, kind of the way a Dodge Viper sounds. (I know that a 4 cylinder OHC will NEVER sound like a 10 cylinder Pushrod but you get the point.) I was looking at the mid pipe not being over 2.25" in diameter. I need it to last long, and look good but sound is important also along with performance. I'm kinda partial to the Borla right now because of the name and their warranty but am nervous that it won't be louder or sound better than stock because of some other people's posts. I am also worried about the N1 style because the consensus seems to be that it is a VERY loud intrusive exhaust. I don't need any tickets, 1 for speeding is all that I needed. If any of you have these exhausts please post what your ideas are about them or your thoughts of others that you don't have. Also, where did you get yours on the internet and how much $$ was it? Was it hard to install? Thank you all very much. I will keep you posted as to what I get and will post pics!

Jay2.5RS,
check out my post CLICK HERE in the Forester Forum, I have pics up. The Rallispec system is nice and very mellow in tone and dosen't look at all like a grapefruit cannon.

A friend and I put the Stromung muffler (just muffler, no midpipe yet) on his car not too long ago.

The noise is definitely louder than stock, but nothing that should get you in trouble (we have gone through many police road checks with no problem). Sounds remains a low tone throughout the RPM range but does get a little whine to it near redline, but no exhaust system could cancel out the 4 cyl scream.

There was a slight power increase. He often races a friend with a '00 Tiburon and before install, was about even, maybe slightly faster. Now he beats it by a full car length by 60mph. Also, reach higher speeds going up large hills than did before install.

Looks awesome. The dual outlet fills the bumper notch nicely.

Now, I don't know much about the other exhaust systems, I just wanted to inform you on the Stromung. Hope this info helps.

I think you should go with the Borla. Nice sound, not intrusive, and most of all not RICEY!!! I had one on my former Jetta and it was awesome. Great power, and great sound, and the best part was that I didn't sound like every other "NoSpeed" (short for neuspeed) import on the road. I now have a Borla on my tahoe, and again AWESOME! Not as intrusive as a flowmaster, and sounds better. A little more mellow. Hope this helps.

Oh, and I would like to thank you all and my roomie for the idea on the Home Depot Grill Mod

Ok, where do you buy, 1. Brullen, 2. Cusco, 3. Neuspeed, etc...
By the way, AdidasCU your truck looks hot. I really like the traditional V8 headers!

I'm a big fan of my Arospeed muffler with custom 2.25" cat-back piping. It's deeper then any Borla, Brullen, Magnaflow or Flowmaster I've ever heard.
At the line with a 2000 SVT Cobra my exhaust was deeper in pitch, but his engine was just a little bit bigger
Here's the pic, I spent $205 total for the muffler and the install, which I feel is a pretty good deal. Just wanted to give you another option rather then the 3 most subaru owners use.

BrysImpreza - have you heard the Brullen before? It's really deep and rich... you do know that the sound dampening inside those Arospeeds deteriorate pretty quicky right?

my Apex'i N1 cat-back exhaust does not have that high pitch loudness at WOT. it sounds Deep and throaty! mean as hell! hahaha i love it! and i love the way it looks! very JDM!

if you are into JDM look on your car, this is the one for you!
but if you are one of those conservative type, i say you should just stick with those old school traditional mufflers. :O

The Rallispec 2.5" setup is nice. Has a nice deep tone and I personally have not felt any lose of bottom end what so ever from using this big of a setup on an N/A. Nice is all I can say.......
