Default Should my brother by a $300 turbo xt?

As the title says. Should he do it? It would be for rallyxross only. We can do all repairs. It actually might be an RX but he might have misread some info. I Told him to buy it no matter what if it said LSD on the rear end.

The turbo is shot.

$300 isn't much of an investment.

True, but if it turns out to be a 2wd Auto XT with a blown turbo , old ass timing belts and the obligatory blown head gasket/cracked head... then your $300 just bought you a nice 2500 pound pile of poo... Throw in some rust and dents and you have a yard livin jackstand queen.

An RX is another story.. At least a complete RX will have $300 worth of parts.(87+)

I had one of these, exactly as described, except the turbo was good.
Got it for free, gave it away for nothing.

I think by rule of thumb, if an EA82T car is below $1000, this comes standard

I wouldn't without more info...

..move to the NW.. I have bought a number of soobs in the $300 range and driven them home.. My first turbowagon was $100.. cost .99 to fix it ..and I have finally killed that motor.. its in its 3rd car..lol.. and suprisingly it wan't the heads or the timing belts that broke...it was 1/4 inch of crankwalk that did it in.

But there are still plenty of people that think their cars that I wouldn't even use for parts.. well, they think they're made of gold..

But, more info is definitely needed to help this guy.

That's so unfair. A $100 Turbowagon in FL would be from a junkyard, and that would require using $300 of gas driving around the state looking for it
