Question Problems with my Whiteline sway bar

I am having a small problem with my Whiteline sway bar/endlink setup and was wondering if anyone else is having similar problems and/or solutions.

The problem is that the nut that holds the bar to the endlink keeps on backing out resulting in a loose bar that causes and annoying clunk sound when the weight transfers at low speeds. I am using the 18-22mm bar set in the 18mm position. I re-tightened the bar last night for the second time and changed the position to the middle setting.

Anyone have any suggestions on how to stop this problem?

Later Z

Arrow Some help is on the way...

I have the Whiteline bar and also had an annoying clunking sound cornering at low speeds. Then I removed the jack from it's compartment and there was no more clunking sound. The bolts on the bar are all still tight from when it was installed early last month.

Put washers on the end link bolts. And remove your jack.

Ok great!!

So your are saying that it should be bolt-large washer-bushing-small washer-bar-washer-nut?
What about a lock washer?

Thanks Z

Did the bar and endlinks come with hardware or are you using stock?

Try putting some loc-tite on the threads...any bolt that is going to be under stress should have some loc-tite, and try torqueing the bolts to the proper level, 15 ft lbs I think for the links but im not sure.

IF you happen to have the whiteline sway bar mounts, the exhaust will also cause a clunking sound when cornering beacuse the stock muffler will rattle against the mount, for some this may be the noise... just my 2 cents- Arne

Wink

i belive on the whiteline site they say you sposta keep the ajustable sway bar on the tightest setting(22) or it can create an unstable handling situation. just thought i'd tell ya.

I've had the same problem with my front whiteline swaybar. I tightened it a couple times and it hasn't happened again. If it does I will use loc-tite. Try that. If you really don't want it to come loose then use the red loc-tite
