Default Question on Installing V8 Brembos on MY 99 RS WRX Swap

With my swap done-

the car definitely needs to stop better, and the stockers arent up to the task.

Im going to pick up a set of USDM STI take offs this week...I have done some research (r180 hubs/axles/differential/driveshaft/)but I would like to confirm a couple of things, and pose a question.

Interesting fact on my rear calipers -

I know the rears arent a direct bolt on, but in my case (at least Im hoping) there seems to be something different going on.

Two years ago when I did the pads, I noticed that the regular Impreza pads did not fit. I turns out I may be using Forester calipers in the back (Only Forester Pads worked ) The Impreza pads I originally bought were completely different (smaller/different tabs) and wouldnt work with the calipers. So I guess that may or may not work in my favor.

This may have come like that from the factory or swapped out from the previous owner ---

Does anyone know the forester mounting brackets any different? (Im secretly hoping that they would bolt up to the STI two pot rears)

Also, I've been told that the Fronts are direct bolt on- just looking for a confirmation to make sure I have everything I need for the switchover.

Thanks!

The fronts are a direct bolt-on as long as they are from a USDM STi, if you buy the STi gold kit from Brembo for some reason they come with bolts that are too long. If you buy the Gran Turismo kit with the black or red calipers and two-piece rotors you're fine; but for some reason the gold kits with the drilled one piece rotors make us go to the hardware store when we have to install them.
Cheers,
Joel

you mean that the brake bias was thrown off?

What did you decide on doing in the end?

yeah because you will still have the small stock rear calipers. It's best to go with a aftermarket setup, those are engineered to work properly with the stock rears and keep the brake bias. With the sti brembo's, your fronts will lock up way too fast.
