Default port and polish stock turbo?

Whats going on..the current set up i have is UTEC and full turbo xs exhaust..i dont want to get a new turbo becuase im afraid to destory my trans..anyway....would it b worth it to post and polish my stock turbo? I have a boost controller im going to put it and i will boost this at 15.5 16.0 psi...with a good tune. What do you guys think? Good iidea? will i get faster spool? quicker 0-60? and about how much would it cost?

IMO you won't get a whole lot from pnp stock turbo. The turbo is just too small to start with and the gain will just me minimum. It all depends how much power you want and how far you want to go. You can even break the tranny in a stock car with constant abuse and improper driving habbit. If you are really concerned about tunnin, I think getting a vf34/vf30 with good turnning should give you a safe 270hp at the wheel. Also vf22 can push you up to the 300hp and compete with the STI. The bottom line is you need to treat the stock tranny with caution and drive it properly.

Yeah if you really want to go fast you are screwed on the tranny. Get a built one or a 6sp and get a real turbo.
