You know, I've read several posts about how bad the service department's service has been. But you have to see it to believe it! I just got back from there and I almost ripped the head off of the guy who takes service orders. Here's the scenario:
Because of the bad service I've received from last oil change, the service manager gave me a complimentary oil change the next time I come back. I took that as a good gesture from the manager's part and I thanked him and believed hopefully that the service will be better next time. So I make an appointment for today to get my car serviced for oil change. I go there at the exact appointment time and tell the guy (this guy is such an a-hole and a d-head) that I'm here for an oil change and have a 1pm appointment. He tells me "ok" and starts working on his paperwork. So I'm standing there thinking he's prepping me up for my service but lo and behold! He's working on other order paper while I'm standing there! I kept my composure and waited for him. After about 5 minutes, he finally starts the paperwork. I tell him I have a free oil change. He looks up in the computer and tells me there's no note for it. So I tell him to check with the manager. He looks for him and cannot find him. I tell him to start my service since I'm on my lunch break and need to go back soon. He tell's me to sign the paper that states I would have to purchase the service for 30 bucks. I told him that I get coupons from you guys and I always get my oil change for 20bucks with coupon but I didn't bring mine since I was gonna get it for free today. He tells me He can't give me the service for that price because I don't have the coupon. I tell him, "if you look at my service record, I always pay 20bucks for an oil change. You guys send me the coupon every other months!" He flat out denies my claim and refuses to give it to me for 20bucks. By this time, I've already lost 20minutes and can't get an oil change to come back to work on time. What an a-hole! I'm furious now. I start telling him how unreasonable SOB he is...and other profanity I shouldn't have said but I think he deserves it.
The fact is that before the personnel change, this would not have been a problem. The previous guy always honored me the 20bucks deal because he knows that I get the coupon. It's not just me that get the coupon, it's everyone who goes there for service (BTW, their coupon is now 24.95 for lube job) and they know that. If I was a first time customer, I'd understand. But I wasn't. I've been going there ever since I bought my car. I did all my service work there. But not anymore! YOU GUYS SHOULD AVOID GOING TO SOUTH COAST SUBARU!!!
