Converting a turbo wagon to stick
So, I'm sorely disappointed that the Legacy Turbo wagons were auto only. But i found a couple and I got to thinking...how hard can the conversion be??
I mean the mounting points have to be the same for cost purposes. All I would need to do is swap the tranny and the ECU. Has anyone every thought about or attempted this.
I REALLY want the wagon to haul crap around and the extra space, but I'd rather drive a stick.
What do you all think??

You can take the trans, center and diff from any Legacy or Impreza and install it in the Touring Wagon, though it might not like the extra torque.
The necessary parts are: Clutch assembly and flywheel, hydraulic clutch res., trans, rear differential (matching gear ratios) pedals and shifter. The ECU thing is still iffy, but it would be best to get a 5-speed turbo ECU if at all possible.
My auto is still holding up strong, even with a bit more power. I honestly don't mind it, especially on the autocross course.
