Thumbs up Subaru car cover review

We all know how difficult it is to keep a dark colored car looking clean. Well, I was getting sick of washing my car (BRP 2002 RS) almost weekly and getting up the next morning to find it covered with pollen and sap and bits of dead flowers and seed pods (I live in an apartment with only one covered parking spot to share between two cars). So I ordered a car cover from my dealership. It took about six weeks to get here, presumably because it had to be hand stitched by 8 year-old children in a Thai sweatshop (J/K). Anyway, after I got it, I washed, clayed, and waxed my car with a urethane sealant, then started covering it up every time I park for the night. That was 3 weeks ago, and I haven't had to wash it since. I did touch it up once with some quick detailing spray. The car looks great, and still has a nice slick feel. I should mention that we've had at least two solid days of Western Washington rain during that time, including the night after I washed it, so the cover has had its work cut out for it. It's pretty good at repelling water, even though it's only a single layer of cloth-like material. And it definitely does a great job of keeping all the other crap off.

So my opinion is that I heartily recommend the Subaru cover to anyone that is thinking about buying one. There are probably better covers out there (Noah covers are supposed to be excellent), but for the money, I don't think you can beat it.

Thumbs up

I too have found that the Subaru Impreza car cover decreases water consumption - especially considering that I live in a desert.

However, I use a California duster between washes. I am not as trusting of a liquid detailer.

Glad you like it!

I paid $90 + tax. You could probably get it for less if you order it over the net. I'm pretty sure it's the cheapest custom-fitted cover you can get. Most of them start around $150. I'll try to get a picture up soon.
