Need a lil help from 2000+ owners
So I have decided I am going to keep my 2001 GT ( i was giong to sell it next December) So now I want to make it a lil more fun to drive and look at - and maybe do something about that damn clutch shudder. What can any of you guys recommend who have a 2000+ Legacy. Any info yo can give me would be great. Thanks a lot

Get a Clutch Master's stage 2 clutch (if you're staying N/A)... or Stage 3... it cures the clutch shudder... so does the ACT clutch

hmmm well I got my Clutch Master's Stage 3 clutch from JC Sports... you can try a local shop to see if they can get it. I think the prices of the clutches are on JCS' site www.jcsportsinc.com

Ganzflow CAI + Amsoil air filter. total cost around $125
Whiteline rear sway bar adj from 19-21 or so $170 This would be a start...after that I would/am buying springs and struts. Most likely AGX struts with Whiteline "wagon" springs. My summer purchase will be a set of TD wheels. Good Luck TIm |

Here is what I did, and I only get clutch shudder when I do something stupid (like let out the clutch reallllly slow):
Install STi Group N Engine and Tranny Mounts. Install Anti-Lift Kit. It seems like the more power you are effectivly getting to the wheels, the better the car behaves... |

I play on gettin the ganzflow but is there really any difference? we have a pretty good setup as is. Id like to lower the car a bit so maybe some suspension upgrades but I do want more power... If you have a 2000 GT, the AGX struts will not fit. Also, seems only the H&R wagon springs or the Whiteline springs will 'work'.
First things to do: Replace the rear swaybar with a 22mm Rear bar to balance the front. I got the Whiteline adjustable 20-22-24 for about $100US. Order from Australia, there dollar is worst off that mine (Canadian). Shipping will get you so, make it worth your while. I also found the front endlinks (Whiteline, or any other ) will greatly improve steering response. I have heard great things about the anti-lift kit (which I also ordered, but haven't install yet). Lastly, I found the K&N high flow drop in filter to be exellent. The cold air intake on the 2000s and on are a great improvement over the '99 or earlier, so a 'new' intake maybe only give a small gain. Finally, watch the B4, being release in August (also in Australia). Lots of parts will be *borrowed*. Like the suspension, control arms, HID and what ever else that can be shipped |
