Default WRX = 87 Wagon

I'm seriously pondering about putting in the first gen WRX motor into my 87 wagon.

I know a guy who has a half cut. So I could get transmission, ecu, wiring, and motor. The only think I think would need would be rear diffrential. I could get this set for a really good price.

I saw a picture today of a "photo shopped" wagon, and was immediatly inspired.

So if anybody has any advice it would be good to hear from you. I'm sure I am not the first to dream of such a modification.

Thanks,

Its been done by a few people

Corky (in sammamish) did an 87 RX with a WRX drivetrain
Theres another guy with a loyale with an EJ22 turbo

most of the time a good front cut will come with the driveline and rear diff, as well as rear suspension. i don't think I would even buy one without that stuff... But if its a 'really good price' I could be convinved

I was thinking it would be cool to find a wreck. It would be nice to swap all drivetrain, and suspension. I thought about it for ahwile, and realized if I found a totaled "Wrx" I would just fix it.

Why would I turn a wagon into a wrx if I alread had it?

If I told you how much I could get the "half cut" for, you wouldn't believe me. I should buy it to resell, because I'm sure it's worth a lot more than the car is worth.

If you really can get it for that good of a deal, and aren't going to use it, and decide to pass the savings on, let me know. I'll send someone over to pick it up

I recieved more information on it tonight. Japanese half cut. Get this, he has two. Rumor is he would get rid of one for a couple ounces of weed. He wants to keep the other for his Impreza AWD project. At the price he's offering I doubt they're legitimate.

Do I have a moral issue with this?? hmmmmm, no.

Sure dude.. Honestly, I think I have enough on hand.. you just have to come pick it up.

Seriously though. If you do have to pass this up, get me some info on it and I'll see if I can get someone over to handle things.

I'm trying to find the scatch. With school, bills, and soon lack of employment it's getting kind of difficult. I will come up with the money, trust me.

I'm not being rude.. BTW. I just read my post and realized it may have come off that way. To clarify. I'm not going to ask, because I don't want him to feel like I am undercutting his business.

I also don't want to know more than I need too. Cmon' a j-spec Wrx half cut, for less than 500 bucks?? I don't want any information. LOL
