Question Question for Joel

Hey Joel.. hehe wuss.. anyways

I had a really really stupid question so bare with me..
when you say "thunderhill" sch00ls and stuff how does it work? Does an instructor show u what to do on a personal driving basis or is it class like (the guy just babbles what to do when racing)
I know this seems really idiotic, but i've never been to this kind of racing school so it would be nice to know ..
thanks

I am not joel....but I was there last time.

You get an instructor for every run. I has some good instructors, and some bad instructors. But having instruction from both types is actually a good thing.

I would highly reccomend going to these types of events. It really was an eye opening experience for me, and I am a much smoother driver now than I was prior to the event. The only bad thing was sharing the track with all the american cars....slow in the turns+fast in the straight = sucks to be me if they don't let you pass in the straight.

Hello,

Well, I am Joel Yeah, what Randy said. They start the day with a little instructions about safety and don't be an idiot and stuff like that. Then they inform you that the school has never had any vehicular accidents ever and they don't want you to be the first.

After that, the groups are split up so there are fewer people on the track at any one time. Every person heading out to the track gets teamed up with an instructor and you go have a blast. The instructor sits with you for the entire 15-20 minute session. Then you pull off and have a 5 minute post-drive meeting where you can ask whatever questions might have come up.

That continues all day long - with breaks for lunch. Each time you go out, you get a new instructor. Like Randy said, sometimes they're better than other times... But even with a lame instructor, you get track time and they can comment on obvious mistakes you make.

Joel
