Exclamation Big Problem With Accessport Connection...help Please!!!

Hey...I just purchased my AP for my 04 WRX. I installed all the software perfectly. When hooking up the AP to my computer, no "Sync to PC" option shows. I need to connect the AP to my PC so I can get maps!!! The COM1 port won't recognize it though. It's functioning properly...I need help ASAP so that I can remap! Thanks! What should I do???

I had the same problem with mine. You first have to "marry" the AccessPort to your car and then it connects to the PC.

Try holding down both the up and down arrows while on the init screen. It should allow you to connect to a PC then regardless of whether or not its been married to an ECU. Saw this trick on Cobb's forums and used it last week.

Marrying it means installing a base map onto your ecu. Hook it up to your car first. You have to follow the sequence of the manual even though it doesn't tell you specifically to do the car first.

Great tip on the "arrows" stunt, THANKS!
