Default WRX 2.0L Alternator Ampage?

Just replaced the alternator on my 02 WRX last week. I thought this was kind of odd, the car only has 55K miles and I have never see one go so quick.

Before replacement the car was running at .80 amps.

After replaceing the car runs at 48.0 amps.

Does anyone here know the correct ampage the alternator should put out at 2500RPM with nothing on but day time running lights?

Thanks
Adam

Well. Some are 60 amp. Some are 70amp and the JDM STI alternators are 90amp. We stock the 90's. Good for guys with stereos ect.. your readings seem within the ballpark.
