Cool WANTED: Fish tank. Find Frank a Tank!

This is Frank the oscar about 5 months ago, I adopted him from a fellow subie owner who went on a deployment. Frank is mine now and i must say he has grown ALOT. This 38 gal eclipse tank is starting to get crowded with him in there as he is hitting 9 inches now and the tinfoil barb and pleco are right behind him.

I am looking for a bigger (75gal or more) tank to put Frank in. For some reason finding a used tank is kicking my ass.

I have been chomping at the bit to make this 38 in to a salt water tank, but i cannot do that until i get frank's fat ass out of it.

So if you know anyone who is selling a larger tank (really the sky is the limit, i would love to put him in a 180 gal and throw in some other large fish) of atleast 75 gal or more, lemme know.

I am not interested in paying full price for a new tank, and if i cannot find a used one localy i will just construct one.

Thanks
erik

hey man, sounds good but i wanted to go over 55gal, really not a big enough jump from a 38 to make it worth it to me.

thanks alot though.

When you do find one make sure it is an All Glass Aquarium. It looks like that 38 gal is one because they use the black seal for the glass edges on a lot of their tanks.

I had another brand from petco that blew its bottom at the seal.

I know how you're feeling, I had 2 6inch Pacu and 3 5inch Piranha's. They grow so damn fast, especially the Pacu. This was in a 38gal tank kinda like yours, except it's not as tall, and a bit wider.

I have a BioReef tank that measures 30" across x 24" high and 12" deep. Not sure how many gallons it holds. Plexi with curved corners in the front and a flat panel in back. Hood is a Marineland Eclipse. In excellent condition and currently not being used.

If that tank has flat walls, it is a 42 gal tank.

Piranah can survive in water ranging from ~55 - 80 depending on how slowly they are introduced. It also depends on what they are fed and how often. People who own piranah are usually irresponsible lame asses in my experience, but that's just my opinion.

So where does one go to unload a used tank? I seem to move every year or two so I haven't set up the tank again.

Sweet dude thanks!
You know that prianhas can live in most of the lakes in Washington right?
Some are too cold but they are some pretty tough fish.
A friend of mine was on the Island County Wildlife board, he was their expert for any advice on "exotic" animals (exotic is anything more than a dog, cat, horse, cow... here in oak harbor). A fisherman caught a piranha in Pass Lake (the last lake you drive past before deception pass bridge) a while back and there was a big stink about it.

THey seem like pretty cool fish to me.
