Impreza WRX STi Has anyone removed the warnings on the sun visors?

I was sucsessful removing the airbag warnings on my 03 WRX with goo gone but what about the 05 STi lables? The visors are made of cloth material so I wouldn't uses fluids to try and remove them. Anyone has ever removed them?

...Is it possible just to get them reupholsered?

(hmm, maybe with some red baseball stitching, get that suede red stitched steering wheel mod, and matching gear shift/ e-brake handle..... sry, got carried away)

/btw/: did you just throw on the goo gone, or did you have to soak it and pick pieces off (it didn't just peel off did it?).

Are you saying that Goo-Gone is all I'd need to remove those warning stickers?

With that and elbow juice..I left my visors with a faint outline of the lables. The material of the visor starts to stretch and get puffy because you will be rubbing a bit but after you clean off the crap heat it a bit with a blow drier and put heavy books on it and it will come back to shape.

Did the final product still show a slight outline of the labels?

Do you recall the appearance of translucent but non transparent tape? The kind often used to wrap gifts? Sort of fog looking. Well thats how the final product looked like. It was a lot better than the lable but not quite as nice as nothing at all.

I almost bought actual JDM(y0!) visors once. They are exactly the same except the writing is in Japanese(obviously). I figured at least then they would be somewhat cool.

But why the hell do they have to put those there? Wouldn't a warning in the owner's manual suffice?

Default visor tags

Reverse the visors , left to right. you have the mirror flaps to look at but better than those yellow tags!

I took the airbag sticker off my passenger visor with Goof-Off. It looks decent, but you can still see the sticker outline under direct sunlight (thankfully visors are usually inside the car!). I have not done the driver side mainly due to time constraints. It took approximately two hours and 16 oz. of Goof-Off to get the job done adequately. Do not do this if you want "perfect" visors; it would be impossible to entirely eliminate the "shadow" effect. I do think it's a mild improvement over the hideous stickers.

NOTE: Goof-Off and Goo-Gone are two entirely different products. Do not confuse them!
