Angry K&N Panel Filter + Stock Airbox = Rattles

I've been running the intake tube from a '92 Legacy for some time now, as it's 3", and has no resonators. I'm happy with it, because I can still use the stock airbox and vac lines, and it keeps my MAF happy too.

To get better flow, though, I dropped in a K&N panel filter, and it does not fit my stock airbox very well. I've called them up to verify the part #s, and tried forcing the box to clamp down , but it won't hold for more than a few minutes of driving before it starts rattling again.

Any ideas?

TIA,
James

Put the OEM filter back in. It flows pretty well IMO.

I threw it away - it was filthy.

They're only about $7 or so at a local auto parts store.

Try and return the K & N filter and get a OEM filter.
