Default o4 wrx check engine light came on?

hey i was wondering if there is a way to check the check engine light code on the computer without taking it in?

Go to Autozone, they will scan it free (unless you're in CA, where I believe they loan you the scanner to do it yourself). Or, find someone in your local forum who has a scanner.
With an 04 you're probably best off going to the dealer however, since it's under warranty and they will be doing any needed repairs.
