Default So I'm sitting in a hotel room getting ready to ship to basic.

Well OT I'm off to Navy basic in the morning. This will be the last time for a few months that I'll be surfing nabisco. Hopefully everything will go as planned. I guess I can't complain other than the tattoo issue that came up a few days ago, but I guess the issue was resolved with MEPS so everything should go smoothly in the morning. Anyways, wish me luck and I'll be back in a few months. Laters OT!

G'luck.

Return with your shield or upon it.

Or, stay in one piece.

Yeah the whole issue with the cops was dropped due to the police doing everything NOT BY THE BOOKS. Also the Canada thing was just a drunken ramble. I took responsibilty for my actions and it all worked out. It was stupid on my part but I manned up to it and everything worked out.

Good luck man. Just like they said above. It's all a mind game. The company commanders all go home every night and laugh about who got yelled at and what they want to do for "fun" tomorrow. Once you graduate, boot camp will be one of your greatest memories. It is for me anyway.

Oh yes, THANK YOU

Good luck - the Navy is a good group. Probably won't get much sleep and you better know Anchors Away but you'll meet a great bunch of people.

The first two or three weeks are gonna bethe hardest. Especially mentally. Just expect some hard times, but know that you WILL be able to get through them.

yep, and if you know some stuff about navy customs/traditions, general types of boats, ensignias and ranks, you'll be breezeing through it all.

oh and i hope you dont hate cleaning cause you'll be doing a lot of it, especially if you go subs.

g'luck.

and as mentioned above, most of it is mental. and don't let the screaming yelling get to you, just block it out the best you can and work through your task. also understand that sometimes, you're not expected to complete whatever task they assign, being that it's not humanly impossible; they're just trying to see how you perform under pressure.

I live through my training sequence by making a game of it; that everything was just a game and a test, laugh through it. helps keep your sanity.

no, especially not anymore. if you're the type that puts up an attitude when people yell at you or if you have trouble doing what others tell you to do, then life will suck more for you as a recruit. physically they will make it challenging for you but if you dont quit and actually try to get through, you'll be fine. they cant make you do as much now as they were once allowed.

oh and be ready to have to tolerate some of the dumbest/annoying people you can imagine. you meet a lot of strange people in the navy and military in general.

Now I'm chillin in the lobby, waiting for my wife and brother in-law. You have to love free wireless hot spots. Hopefully when I get to a-school they will have a hot spot. So I can waste endless amounts of time on nabisco.
