I can tell you it is DOHC, but unfortunately, there's not a lot of Ozzies on this board. There are some good liberty boards out there, though, do a google search.

You have an EJ20G. It is a closed deck motor with oil squirters under the pistons. It is a DOHC motor and using a rocker arm with hydraulic lash adjusters. While the lash adjusters can be noisy and a pain to service, the rocker arms allow your heads to be revved higher than the first gen. '93-96 WRX heads. You can safely rev to 7800 rpms. Depending on exactly which model you have, you have a VF-10, VF-8 or VF-12 turbo. The first one is about the same as the current TD04 turbos used on WRX's. The other two are larger and are comparible to a TD05 and can be tuned to make in excess of 300chp. And I happen to have one in a car in my driveway.
This all assumes you have the turbo version and not the entry level 2.0 non-turbo. If it is non-turbo, it is an EJ20E. You can check by looking at the applied engine code on the little metal plate mounted to the left side strut tower... Any other questions? |
