Default JC Sports.....And Their Torque Chip.....

Okay fellas. Heres the deal. I want to buy a JC sports torque chip. I've heard nothing but good things about the performance, and the price is nice. BUT of course I cant help but remember all the bad (hostile even?) reviews JC sports has gotten in customer service.

So basically heres my question/s

I want this chip. If i try and get one from JC sports is it basically throwing my money away?
Are they THAT bad that I should just abandon hopes of the chip?
I'm almost 100% sure nobody else makes a comparable chip is this true?

Oh well, I just really want to order this thing. But i keep hearing "NEVER NEVER NEVER ORDER FROM JC SPORTS THEYRE EVIL!!!!!" and such.....what is so bad, is there no hope for my chip?

My fellow I-clubbers i ask you for help.

Jc Sports is kinda like that guy who sells rolexs from a trench coat in the alley. Except Jc doesnt have the watches in stock and wants you to pay up front.

Best bet is to get someone who can go directly to their shop for you and pay them to get the chip for you. Apparently they do okay if you can see them face to face.

Yea, I am trying to hold back from using certain choice words...

That company really pisses me off...I will never buy ANYTHING from them again...

Of course you will probably get a better customer service eperience.

Well not that I'm taking sides for anyone, but alot of you guys that complain about JCS tend to "look the otherway" when other vendors have the same type of behaviour... I don't want to mention any names.

DoomEquation - Yes the TC2 is great if you don't want all those piggybacks etc, I've used it myself, and it's worth every penny. You can do a search on here, I have the installation instructions for the TC2 all written out in step form.

The TC2 is a nice upgrade. I have the tc1, and it worked just fine. I'm about to see what it does with a cheap homemade ram air, 100 octane gas, pulley, fuel pump, and exhaust. Today's test run was fun, but I need to reset the ecu to get the full effect. That new (old if you remember. ) intake really made a bigger difference in terms of tuning. But, if you combine your parts right, then you'll get even more power. There's nothing magical about just ONE part!

As for their customer service, I can't really complain. At times I do think I got too involved in what went on there, and didn't live my own life. Which, is what I've been doing lately. Everybody is entitled to an opinion, and as soon as someone doesn't like it, the same old arguments start all over again. After working in the ER the past month, a lot of that petty arguing really seems pointless. I've seen a few things recently that put things in perspective for you if you learn quick enough. After also waiting 6 months on a 10k dollar gazebo to be built for my house, and hearing the same "excuses/reasons" as I've read here, I realize very little goes perfectly smooth. We're all still people, even vendors. If you want to build your own car the way you want to, then you'll probably be going to multiple vendors anyway.

jc sports is good,IMO..everytime I order sth, they will send it to me within a week, or even the same day.
what I suggest you do is call kevin at jc sports and order directly on the phone.

When there is a bad vendor we say STAY AWAY FROM THEM...

And I stay stay away from them......They billed my credit card and still havent sent it to me yet......Its as simple as this: their customer service blows out of my a$$......There are several chips comming out soon that do the same as the TC2.

just my 2 million cents

If I ever treat a customer like they treat me, I wouldnt have a job...

oh yea, what did you hear is coming out that will work the same as JCS's chip? oh btw, i've ordered from them as well and have absolutely nothing bad to say at all about them. almost everyone that has or had something bad to say were all ordering the same part (a turbo) they had legit excuses for everything either being late or what not but people got frustrated and that's when it all blew up.

go with your own judgement.

Nevermnd, GTBguy seems to have a new JC sports TC2 for sale at damn close to the same price JC sports W/ shipping. This avoids the whole "Dealing with JC sports" issue, and puts the chip directly where i want it. In the mail

Thanks for all the replies. with the torque chip out of the way i do believe that there is nothing else i will ever need from them so the issue is dead.

Or at least i hope
