Where to get an STi exhaust?

Anyone know where I can get this? I was just about to order the STi cat-back (STi backbox + Stromung 2.25" midpipe) and I called up Mike Shields at SPD and he said he just ran out!! Does anyone have another source on this part?

If they can't be found, is there anything else comparable? Dang it, I wanted that STi embossed on the tip too!

Is the STi exhaust that all subaru dealerships sell now the same thing as what spd was carrying?

if so... then any dealership should be able to order at least just the muffler section of it for you...

you can always have the intermediate/mid pipe fabricated...

SPD carried a WRX STi take off muffler and paired it with a Stromung mid pipe. It had the STi logo embossed on either side of the tip. I'd really love to find one, but I don't think the dealerships carry the real deal. Any suggestions?

It is (was) the stock muffler from the Ver.6 WRX - he bought them from some source in Japan. People yanked them off their new WRXes, and put on some aftermarket thing, and the speed shop guy ships (ed) them to SPD. I'll bet that they're coming to the end of their supply, since the WRX6 hasn't been sold for a while, and even if the Sti has a different exhaust, most cars made will have what the US WRXes have.

I've heard that he can't get any right now. I don't think it'll be as easy to get the anymore, for the reasons listed above - not to say there aren't any to be had, but I expect as supply decreases, price increases, etc. Considering how great a piece this is for a N/A 2.5 or light turbo application, I'd pay at least %50 more than the current asking, just get one. I doubt Mike'll ask for more, but he might have to, since he'll certainly have to put more time and effort into just finding them.

Actually, it's a custom midpipe not a stromung. I know because SPD sent me a stromung by accident and it was not compatable and I had to send it back. I'm glad I got one shortly before he ran out.

It's really quiet! Almost unnoticable the difference between this and the stock sound. At least I won't be harassed by cops!

Just as an FYI... Although the STi looks very nice, Mike made it pretty clear to me when we talked that the dual-tip Stromung is the way to go (for power gains, anyway). I just liked the way the STi looked.

See dyno proof on www.i-awd.com or do a search in the NA powertrain as I posted the results there.

As far as options. A few STi/P1 units come avaible on scoobynet, but it's not easy to find a mate over there that is willing ship to the states and you'll still need to contact Mike for his custom 2.25" SS midpipe.

Sorry guys I think I got the last one from SPD. Ordered it two weeks ago and now just waiting for it.

Mike Shields still has to send me the tracking number though. I will have to email him again later this week.
