Default How to confirm rear differential and ratio?

How would i know if I got a matching rear diff with the motor/tranny assembly i recieved? I know how to tell what tranny i have and the gear ratios for it but are there any stampings on the rear diff to know it is matched with the transmission??? Im having some problems with my tranny and i have a feeling its because its not matched with the rear diff. Tranny drives and shifts 100% but starts to lock up in high speed cruising. It starts to shake and lock up the wheels untill i come to a complete stop even in neutral. It also smells like something is being burnt at the same time. Tranny is full of gear oil also. I have a feeling im killing the center diff due to wrong ratios. Please help someone!

what trans did you get, and what is the ratio?? The rear ratio is stamped on the ring gear...37:11 is WRX i think, 3.545, and the 3.9 is 39:10.....i could be off on those numbers, better to see what you have then see if a search will help.

I have the EJ207 DW1kE with the TY754VBAAA tranny. It should have a 4.44 FD. My question is how do i know which rear diff im suppose to have and how do i identify it.
