Default Finally!

Tommorow I will take delivery of a 2005 silver Baja 5 Spd Manual with no options (well, auto dimming mirror and rubber mats --> honestly, these crappy options will be on sale soon). More details when they deliver the vehicle tommorow. I hope there are no scratches!

Got my Baja today! Got it from Seaside Cypress Subaru. They even had it delivered to my house coz everything was done over the phone and internet.
It's monterey/brilliant silver and perfect for a Raiders fan like me ;-)

Here's a pic of it coming down the street driven by Al from Cypress Subaru:

Here's when he parked across the street from my crib:

My son saying his goodbye to the WRX:

After I signed paperworks, Al took my old baby *sob* and we parted ways:
http://www.wrxtuners.com/gallery/sho...cat=500&page=1

I got this Baja for $25182.00 out the door. It may sound too much to you but let me explain.

I was eyeing this similar truck from Livermore Subaru in which I was qouted $24,393.41 OTD. but unfortunately, my buyer for the WRX fell through and I coud not complete the deal with Livermore. Kennyusmc1 was the lucky guy(again, good job!) to pick up that baja.
Last week as I was searching I found a 5 speed monterey silver one at Seaside Cypress Subaru so I immediately filled out the online qoute form but before they could get back to me, I decided to call livermore again since they still show a silver 5 speed in inventory. Well, it turned out that they didn't have any but they said that they could get me one coming from Cypress Subaru. It didn't take long for me to get the same deal ($24,393.41 OTD)
but with just the auto dimming/compass mirror and rubber mats and also the 2.9 financing and $500.00 rebate and they will also give me 17K for my WRX.
At this point, I was sure that I found my deal.
When I checked my email in the afternoon, I got some responses from Cypress Subaru so I contacted them. To make this short, They offered me the same vehicle for $25180.00 + 2.9 financing and $500.00 but they gave me $18K for my trade in.
I still owed about $5700.00 on my wrx. If you do tha math, With livermore deal, I would had a balance of ~ $13K but with Cypress, My balance was only
$12670.00 + I never left my house to go to the dealer!
The way I look at it, I got my Baja for ~24,160.00 OTD Not bad.
oh I also had the Subaru bucks certificate for 500 bucks signed and ready to mail.
Looking forward to meeting you local guys with BAJA's one of these days.

We can't view the yahoo pics.
Congrats on the new Baja!
I tried to do email shopping/negociating for my Jetta but I only got one reply and all he said was "come on down and see what we have." The first place I went to offered me 16+k for my 50,000mile WRX, I was like, OK. I thought the Scooby rebate was 1500? Maybe that is just for imprezas. I dunno.
Congrats again.

Thanks Chris! try the pix again I fixed it.
The 1500.00 rebate is for 2004 Baja-T and the 500 is for 2005 Baja-T.
On my deal, the 500 bucks rebate was deducted from my OTD price.

Hey kenny and patrick, I like that! The silver twins with a l'il bro. Yeah, as soon as I found out Seaside had one I jumped on it. We'll have to have a mini meet that is close to all in the bay area. Our very own l'il Baja meet.
Someone has to organize it tho coz I'm disorganize type of person.

Guess what I have left from the WRX that will transfer over? The STI shortshift assembly and STI tranny mount. I will install them over the holidays tho so keep tuned in. I will document and post it here for all.

Haha, I'll hold off on the other stuff! I did make a promise to the BOSS(better half) not to mod this truck(too much hehehe though I didn't specify it while I was making my promise ) so I can only do the left over parts from the WRX.
Let me know how the exhaust hunt goes. I will definitely get one but not sure when. All I know is it has to be at least 3" dia. pipes.

Where are you located? Maybe I can be of hand when you do the install?

Do not temp me......

Kenny, as long as it's 3" dia. it's all good. But did you guys notice the extreme bend at the axle-back portion? That's not good for performance.
The exhaust pipe design is quite poor on these Baja's.
The hood and tailgate are extremely heavy (time for Fiberglass\cabon fiber experimentation). I will definitely purchase them once some manufacturer starts making them.

I called them up, don't get that exhaust. It's a 2.5' dia cat-back exhaust.
They will be making a 3" dia. turbo back version with hi-flow cats and correct hanger placement for Turbo models I will be waiting for it.
