First AEM does not make intakes for the 04+ RS
I have a 04 and i reciently intalled a cobb CAI Although you have to cut a wiring channel to get the IAT sensor to reach. & it has to be adjusted to fit due to the slight wiring + piping change. It works great 3-4 hp gains. It sounds like a lion roaring going under brigdes If your car is 05 your **** out of luck for now if you want a intake. Exhaust is the same as 03+04 |

I emailed cobb intake to see whether their '99 intake will work on our 05's. Let's hope so!

How much you wanna bet that AEM does make a Cold Air Intake for the 2004 2.5rs? I have it right now. Im gonna go down to subaru and check see if they sell a mount that'll mount on my engine bay that the 04's have that my 05 doesn't.

Yeah but don't do it for your 05. i tried fittin the 98-99 rs intakes in my 05 and it didn't fit and i was gonna kill somone. 05 is so different from 04 and it pisses me off, they comletely redesigned the air intake out of all things for 05.

i dont know bout you guys and the 05 RS, but i did a CAI from AEM and installed it perfectly into my 05. all i needed to do is to cut out a piece from the end of the CAI and snapped on the stock MAF and then connected the other half of the pipe to the filter. It was easy and only took me 15 minutes to install.. and it works and sounds good... if i have a pic. ill post it up...

Injen makes one and Weapon R makes one, THATS IT. Make sure you get it for your car and nothing else. The sensor changed in 05' thus 04' or less no go. Rallitek sells Weapon-R. Or go on the mfg. website and find a part # and a dealer. They are nice, ive had them both and im back to a stock box. In case you didnt see this..... A couple threads down....

weapon r actually makes like 4 intakes for the 05. they make the dragon i guess in 3 different colors, thier normal intake in 3 different colors, and then the secret weapon. i know the only weapon r worth a damn is the secret weapon, but yeah.

I have searched around and come up with some info- 04 to 05 have different air metering systems iirc.. one is MAP, one is MAF. most intakes one the market for GD style RS's will work up to 04. in 05 i know for a fact Injen makes an intake specifically for 05. Search on ebay for injen rs intake, or go to injen's site. Cobb said they wouldn't be releasing an intake for the 05s, something about not high enough demand to produce a different design for the new air metering between 04 and 05. can anyone clarify this. gnarwhale just added one more to the list of intakes for 05s. anyone else?

its 98-99, 00-02, 03-04, 05, 06
each section needs its own special intake, now the 00-02 can work on the 03-04 if you drill a holein it for the sensor but off the shelf it would not work without the hole |

chasis doesnt matter its motor design and the 02 has the same design as the prior 00-01
which means MAP, no IAT sensor, loves to throw CELs etc etc 98-99 are MAF thereby needing a totally diff design intake 03-04 had a IAT sensor in the intake |
