Default new snowboard thread, please read and help me out

hey you guys, im having trouble here, i hope all the snowboard gurus can help me out. i want to know to which angle i should turn the bindings, and in which position they should be. i have a Lamar Electric 157cm board with Liquid LQ 1500 bindings, and with Airwalk size 12 shoes. i am goofy, about 5'10, and weigh about 135 pounds. im not really skinny and definetly not fat, but i am healthy. i want to know the angle i should turn the bindings to, and if the bindings should be centered, etc. on the center disks. so just help me out because i wanna try things out.

cliffnotes: read the paragraph! lol.

take the board (with bindings off) and set it on the ground. now, stand on it. however feels comfortable. take a few pieces of tape and mark either side of your feet. bolt on the bindings.

there is no way you "have" to have the bindings. just however feels comfy. you will probably end up changing them later anyway.

trial and error is the best way, and always remember to check the bolts often to make sure they are tight

I find a duck stance the most comfortable, even though i very rarely ride switch.
Try like +15-20 front, -5-10 in the back.

oh, and injuries are slightly less likely with a duck stance as its more natural.

Hey Britney are you old school enough to remember Balls snowboard pants (they had rediculously huge legs and came in very ugly colors) Thats what I think of everytime I hear wide stance

perhaps i'm not old enough. or perhaps i just never saw anyone rocking them back in the day. how long ago was this? every time i think of wide stance i think of fruity bastards thinking they are bad doing easy flatland tricks.

durran

ps. we should just start a thread and have anyone that has any questions about snowboarding ask us...we will let them know what the hell is up. ahahah

its a duck stance yes. it has felt comfortable since i started, and makes it easy to land switch.

you can just put your board on the ground and get on your bed, and jump onto your board and see how your feet are. mostly just riding and realizing where you tend to bend your feet if they arent in the exact right spot. its gonna take some time. I have friends that ride anywhere from both feet facing up the mountain, to having them almost slalom.

Well he does say that he's goofy.....135 lbs and size 12 makes me think more of a Weeble, but tomayto, tomahto... (yes I know they are spelled wrong, it's done for the pronunciation)

Wide as it goes I think it is around 20-22. Not very wide lookin back at the days we would cut the nose and tail and Tbolt our bindings out as far as we could with no highbacks. Ah those were the days
