Default How much is an '02 REX Drivetrain worth?

Hey Guys!!! I got this crazy Idea, Before I put anymore thought into it I figured I would get a second opinion. I have an '02 rex with, oh 47000 miles on it. I have obtained a Daily driver, and I want to go stupid on my REX!! Alot of people have said "just sell it and find an STI" I like my car though, Bugeyes and all, I think that instead of dumping a large down payment in order to spend the next 5 years paying on a new car, I'd rather plop down the money on turning this car into an STI. Ok I'll shut up and get to the point, If I were to just yank out my entire drivetrain out of the 02, and sell it....How much money would all that get me?? I think that with that money, plus a little cash of my own, I could afford to do an entire swap. Geez, Sorry for talking so long just to ask that simple question... Oh well, I'm just excited cause I got a daily driver and can think about stuff like this!!

STI RA gearset is about 1400 so a WRX gearset would be half of it or less

Tranny is ~$500-750 for a used WRX 5 speed.
Engine is ~1500-2000 w/ harness and everything.

Ok so lets say 2000 there, If I sell my VF30 = 250-300, I would keep my Exhaust, sell the pinks = 300 - 350, sell the accessport = 150 - 200 ?

Tranny + Engine = 2000 - 2750
Misc Parts = 750 - 850

Approx. = 2750 - 3600.....That would get close to paying for the 6spd by itself. Then I would probably have to do the engine out of pocket.

I will take that accessPORT from you , but if you do everything and get like a V7 engine you are looking at about 8k
about 5k for the engine and 3k for the tranny, that does not include installs and other parts to make it all work. At the end of the day I would bet that you will be down 10k for everything but you wil have a 300hp 8k rpm DD.

See the cool thing is...I already have a DD. I could take out the Engine and just leave the car like that for a while as I have something else to get me to work. It's a 98' Diamonte with like 109,000 miles. I drive down I30 from Arlington to Dallas TX, Man is it nice to drive an auto down that road!!!Traffic sux!! I have raised my power goals to approx. 400whp. I figure a 2.5L block(maybe with Forged pistons), V7 or V8 heads(there SO much better than the american head), and a Green will do me. An alternate plan would be to just get my hands on a closed deck 2.2L block somewhere add JDM head to that. If I do that, then maybe the RA gearset can hold up to it since I won't be making as much TQ. In the end, I thought I had better start finding out how much my stuff was worth before making to many plans on what to replace it with. Damn I'm chatty today.

Yea 47K is USED. However, It works fine, I haven't blown anything up....Yet....

For the money, the RA gearset is not a bad option. I just wonder if I use a green making close to 400whp If I would be pushing the RA gears a little to hard? I drive pretty sensably, I don't do stupid things. So the RA gears may be just fine for me, Especially if I get a lower displacement block(2.2L), But I really want to run a green, I don't think I like the idea of running it on a 2.0L. I don't think I want that much lag.
