Default MY05 WRX center dash vent removal for gauges??

how do you remove the center dash vents on the MY05 WRX, because i am installing gauges soon and would be easier if the vents were not in place so i can access housing easier for running wires?

thanx,

justin

You must first remove the shifter trim (pull the back up and then out), then the trim around the radio (2 screws at the bottom and then pull out), and then the vents can be removed. Keep in mind that removing the vents will not buy you any more room since the vent duct directly behind the vents stays in place. I just installed the factory triple gauges and there was plenty of room without removing the vents.

kewl, i knew the first 2 steps. mounted my kartboy lever from my MY03 sedan into my MY05 wagon in about 25-30min. so i just wanted to know if i should expect anything different than usual than previous years. reason i ask about removing the center vents, arent there some clips up under if you push them it is easier to remove the clock to put the gauge housing in place?

orginally i had done this setup in my MY00 RS, it had a lexan faceplate so it looked real good:

in my MY03 wrx sedan, i did the Autometer Apillar housing when it was released:

i am going back to the center housing, with another custom lexan faceplate for my wagon.

thanx,

justin
