Default Wisconsin Glacier Trails/El Diablo Brisk TSD rally in Eagle River, WI Nov 6/7

There's a really cool event coming up in a couple weeks up in eagle river, its a TSD rally on mostly gravel roads around Eagle River, WI. Last year was the first year for this event in this location, and it was really fun. It'd be cool to see some of you guys make it up there again, and cool to see some new faces as well.

I'll be there in either my eclipse if its fixed and ready to go, or my wrx. I'm likely to be working, not sure if it'll be sweep again or just controls.

Jay

I'd do it if I still had my old GT. From everything I heard it sounded like a lot of fun. I'll do a little gravel with the new one, but not that much.

Have fun fellas.

Sounds like fun. Anybody want to co-drive for a rookie?

After walking around the Parc Expose on Saturday and seeing all the people with Dramamine patches behind their ear, I'm pretty sure she doesn't want to do any codriving for ANY rally, even if it is TSD.

I could NEVER codrive a prorally, I'd be puking about half a mile into a stage. I do think that I could codrive a TSD though at least on the less competitive level, because you get to watch the road that much more. For me a lot of it has to do with being comfortable with who I'm driving with also, and how well I'm feeling on any given day.

I think the only thing that would make me queezy is trying to read pace notes and look at the scenery to double-check my location. I'm pretty good in the co-drivers seat as long as I'm confidant with the driver, and ProRally is a bit more seat of your pants. Could only say if I was really in that position.

I'm pretty sure I couldn't codrive without some sort of motion sickness remedy. I was able to make myself a little queasy driving on the Lizard.

I'd be up to try at some point, though.

I was perfectly fine driving and codriving for surveys and actual Lizard events, but everyone is different. Some people can't handle either though. *shrug* Having just enough on your stomach to not feel hungry but too much to feel sick makes a huge difference with me as well.

I need to make a decision soon. What is the deal with the Rookie class? They mention some rule in the entry form, but I couldn't find it.

If I can run Rookie class, I can do it for $35. That's REAL cheap for 200 miles of fun.

Rookie is Less than 5 races combined experience driver and navi IIRC.

Chad you should definitely come up. Its well worth the $35, but count on a hotel room too, at least splitting it with a codriver.

I so wish I could do this rally this year. Last year was a blast. I was a co-driver last year and won the rookie class, but alas... not going to be able to do it this year. I've got a brand new baby at home and my bro-in-law doesn't have his subaru anymore.

Oh well. Hopefully next year! Everyone who is going, have fun. If you're on the fence... go! It's a blast. It's a long exhausting day in the car, but it was fun afterwards meeting and talking to everyone.

I'll definitely be ready for next season, so if anyone wants a co-driver, send me a message. If I could ever scrape up enough money for the equipment, I'd totally co-drive clubrally, too.

Hotel reservations are done, I'm dropping the entry form off at Dave's house today.

Can't wait!

If anybody needs the General Instructions, email me at jluikart@step2racing.com and I can get them to you.

Basically, TSD you drive over a distance at a certain speed. There are checkpoints along hte route and if you drove perfect speed you'd be right on the set time that the course says. You are scored based on how far off of the perfect time you are.

Sounds easy, but this one in particular is on some really nice really twisty gravel roads, at "brisk" paces. I'd say about 80% clubrally paces, which is pretty fun.
