Default Can you just use zip ties for spats (GC8)?

I was wondering if you could put the screw into the part that is closest to the tire and then just tighten 3 zip ties to hold on the rest of the spat. I was also thinking, can I just put in the screw near the tire and then 1 zip tie the part closest to the liscense plate skipping the middle two mounts. This way would only require one hole be drilled for each spat. Do you think either way would be sturdy enough. Will there be a threat of the ties melting or breaking? Any ideas or cautions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

I put all the screws in except the one closest to the licsence plate. The supplied hardware doesn't really even work. For that I used a zip tie, with the metal bracket removed. You still need to drill a hole for the zip tie to go through, but the zip tie allows you to pull the spat end tight to the bumper. All zip ties might work al well but you might get some saging/movement in the middle part of the spat. The screws in that area work and fit fine, so use 'em. It is hard, from an emotional stand point, drilling holes in the bumper, but it's all for the best.

You can zip tie the end closest to the license palte, but the other attachment points should be screwed in. It isn't that hard and I am going to try a new technique when I do my third set in a few days. If it works better I will post it on http://www.scoobymods.com The current technique I have used is listed on the site now.
