Subaru Stars Exhaust Resonator Questions (already searched)

found plenty of topics on this but none of them answered my question.
I don't want to lose any of the volume (at least not enought to notice much) i want to get rid of the high pitched tone at the top of the RPM range and make the sounds more BOXERish and constant

I don't mind the poping much just want a cleaner sound and less tingy above 6-7k rpm's

current setup is a borla header, magnaflow/carsound cat, 2.5 exhaust piping and a flowmaster muffler w/dual tips.

its def prob one of the best sounding exhausts on a RS ive ever header besides a scoobysport (very close in sounds) but i just want to refine it a little bit

some recommened getting a glasspack and mounting it backwards to just reduce the tingy sounds

any advice would be great

thanks

get a better muffler.

prodrive or stromung.

the buzzy high pitched noise is from your muffler.

no, in fact the buzziest muffler i've ever heard on a suby was a magnaflow n1 canister.

bosal, brullen, stromung, greddy evo2, prodrive... these are all good low, non-buzzy, boxer - sounding mufflers...

if you get a flowmaster or magnaflow or ebay rice muffler(thin, very little sound absorbing material, cheaply produced/engineered) you're going to get a buzzy high pitched sound.

again, magnaflow is one of the worst muffler's i've ever heard.

a resonator will help, but if you want a different kind of sound, you need another kind of muffler. a resonator is only going to make it quieter, not change the pitch or kind of sound.

im guessing scoobysport would be grouped with all these higher quality mufflers you spoke of

and would this if it is in fact grouped with the higher quality ones be the best to buy

i did realize the muffler was to some degree a low quality but i couldnt pinpoint the noise

thanks
