Not quite! Fastest mass production car 0-30, perhaps. But I'd bet these cars will at least match it and likely beat it 0-30 by a tenth or so.

http://www.modernracer.com/features/...testcars4.html

These cars go 0-60 faster than an STi goes 0-50, and 0-100 in about 1/2 the time the STi takes.

still the sti 1.2 sec 0-30 is crazy fast.... and, it has 4 doors and a trunk. none of these other vehicles can get groceries or go through over 2 inches of snow, lol

Damn I need to get the launch down!

I noticed under Consumer Info they listed the base price of that particular STi as $33,698... Anyone know what options were on it?

It has to be that extra shift in the Sti.

It's funny how the STI is out on the MR until 60mph, even until 70mph, and then the MR leaves the STI the rest of the way ... I want to second the extra shift, but doesn't the MR have a 6-spd as well? ... Makes me lean more towards that damn turbo the Evo's have ... Just has more top end grunt then our VF's ...

The evo has an excellant turbo (big 16g) from the factory putting many evos in the 11's on it. Plus you can safely run more psi in the evo.

Those are both awesome cars for sure....

its interesting that in the same issue of motortrend, they tested the enzo vs the gt-40 vs the carrera gt.........the STi had a quicker 0-30mph time than all three.....go look at the issue.

if anyone says that the sti is NOT the quickest production car to 30mph, bring some documented times that prove otherwise, and i'll humbly accept them. otherwise until i see some proof, STi is still king!

that AWD is SWEEEET!

In that chart it all has to do with the shift points. If you notice 0-70 is the same, 0-80 the MR is .3s ahead, but at 90mph it's only .1s and by the end of the 1/4 they run the same exact time.

I wish they would do more 5-60 tests, I think you'd see a bit of a difference between the two.

The most interesting thing about that article is they felt it was easier to go fast in the 05 STI than the EVO MR, especially in the slalom. The guy who did the stuff for MT was at the track with an 03 EVO the same day, and the 05 STI ran about 1 second faster in the lap time than the 03 EVO, the EVO MR was about 2 seconds faster.

A brand-new six-speed manual transmission keeps the revs in the meaty part of the power curve better than the previous car's wide-geared five-speed.
Wide-geared? WT F? The EVO's 5 speed is awesome! The gears are perfectly close.

03 EVO is ok how about an 05 EVO?

Results are good though some proof that the 05 STi has numerous improvements that make the difference.

Cheers
