Question Selling used summer tires: What to charge?

Hi guys.

Yesterday, at 110,458 miles, I put a brand new set of Nokian Hakkapeliitta RSi tires on my OE wheels. I'd been running 15"s for winter for four years, but had to give those to my wife. So, something new for me. Expensive, but fun.

I had a set of Dunlop SP9000 tires on my OE wheels before, which I bought and had installed at TireRack in Indiana, in April 2002. I can check the exact mileage, since I keep track of everything, but basically I'd say the tread's about half worn, maybe a little more.

The tech at the dealership I work for, who did the swap, owns a '90 Mitsu. Eclipse that takes the same size. He expressed interest in buying them, but neither of us had a clue what the cost should be. If my wife and I don't decide to keep them for her Legacy for one more year's use, I might sell them.

So... What's a fair price on a used set of good performance tires? They are in very good shape, which is the reason he wants them. I just have no idea about the cost!

Thanks-
=S2=

k fine what i would do is depending on how much tread is left i would charge him half of what i originally bought them for if you think there is at least half life in em otherwise like a hundred bucks, you can afford to be a nice guy

Well I am a nice guy. But I can't afford anything.

I thought of half the original value, but that'd be about $225 and I just didn't think used tires were worth that much....

Maybe somewhere between $100 and $200 then? $100 would be fine with me, I just need the money. But if these are worth a little more, well, that's why I ask.

Look on Ebay for data points--many tire sales there. FWIW, I've gotten some amazing prices on Ebay for old tires I was thinking of tossing.
