Just started happening. Clutch all the way in, when downshifting form 5th to 4th or 4th to 3rd I hear and feel a grind. I have a cobb short shifter, but I don't think it's the short shifter grinding but I could be mistaken. I'm thinking bad clutch, but my car is at 62,000, I would think the clutch would last longer. The clutch has not been abused so I'm looking for what the problem is and how to fix it.
Thanks in advance, Pete

You're lucky your stock clutch has lasted that long, even if it's not abused. It's not your short shifter...it's time for a new clutch. The clutches on Subaru's are not that strong to last you a long time...heck there are even issues of it being replaced when new (flywheel and all). So, to answer your question...change the clutch and get a better one ~ aftermarket.
