EJ204 GTech Pro Runs
I have a EJ20 w/ AVCS w/ direct ignition (car is NA) which does:-
kw(PS)/rpm 155 ps (114.00 kw) [152.88 HP] / 6400 rpm
N*m(kg*m)/rpm 20.0 kg*m (196.13 N*m) [144.64 ft-lb] / 3200 rpm
and relines @ 7000rpm. The car can rev to 9Krpms, but limited @ 7K
As you can see, these are extremely close to the EJ25.
In my first run, I had the HKS Carbon TI for NA model on 2.25" piping with a 2" internal magnaflow resonator and a K&N Sport Filter for stock box. Car uses a MAP sensor and Timing @ max. The car felt really fast.
I had more torque and HP added, not quite sure how much with all the losses, but for sure, I was way over 200N*m of torque and HP was a fair bit over the 155ps, most probably, 165+ps.
This run was done in the night, 1AM+ with the air still
92.7 HP @ 5756 RPM
90.7 ft-lbs @ 4785 RPM
0-60 = 9.636s
From stock without exhaust, but just 2.25" piping, I was in the low 80's, like around 80-82.
To cut down on some noise and trying to achieve a deeper pur, I install a second 2" resonator near the diff.
I was surprise how quiet and quick the car had became. Acceleration was smooth and pronounce all to the redline. I unexpectedly, a high pitch wristle, making the car sound turbocharged.
I had more torque and HP.
This run was done @ the track @ 28+ degree celcius
104.1 HP @ 6366 RPM
96.6 ft-lbs @ 4580 RPM
Now this is telling me that my piping size should be close to 2" and not 2.25"
If I had cams and better fuel control, 2.25" maybe applicable. But it makes me wonder if the EJ25 should be using 2.25" instead of the 2.5" everyone goes too.
Have anyone done any GTech or dyno runs to confirm this?

Most of us run around 2 and 3/8 well i know apexis for NA RS is 60 MM which is close to 2 and 3/8s.
