Unhappy Farewell to Soobieland!

Well after months of trying to sell my car and being frustrated at not being able to, it finally happened. A gentleman flew down from Minneapolis on Saturday and drove the car off.

I still can't believe its gone.

Nonetheless, although I have lost a Soobie, I still consider you all friends and will try to not make myself too much of a stranger. I will drop in and see how you guys are doing every once in a while. And you can always shoot me an email to say HI at this address:

mike.jerry@usa.net

I find as I drive around town that I still have total Soobie 'radar' and see every one within range. So I'll still wave and say HI regardless of what I am driving. [and I have no idea what that is going to be yet]

Talking

Whatever you do, don't buy a DSM! My friend Jake just bought one, and he said it's one big conspiracy, they're actually slower than Hondas!

oh, wait.

I too will give a moment of pause for the passing [of hands] of your car. That was an incredible driver's machine.

Onward then, to greater things!

Unhappy

/ Sad because it's gone, but happy you finally sold it. I hope the person that you sold it too is going to enjoy that car just as much as you have.

Hope to see you around as you are always welcome no matter what you drive.

Mike, you say it's in Minneapolis? Cool, I'll see it when I'm at college. So sad (shaking head), one hell of a fast car.
Keep us updated on your new car.

Imp - Will keep you guys informed about what I get next. I am looking at an older DSM and a 323 GTX right now so I will be staying with turbo/AWD whatever I do.

Wow Mike, you had some fan following for that car. Am I worthy?

For those of you who are interested I'm the one who flew from the Twin Cities to pick up the car. How could I resist that car and the chance to drive it in the mountains? It will definitely be well taken care of with me, albeit altered for my sadistic purposes (rally racing). Aside from a good set of DMS suspension the car is everything I wanted from a Subaru.

I had a 1996 Impreza L with ~180bhp NA which started my Scooby obsession. Unfortunately that car met an untimely demise a couple years ago. I've been driving a DSM since as a temporary car, heheh.

Oh and it may well be on display up here this weekend at the motorsport show amongst the rally cars if anyone will be in the area. You may also want to check in on 4WheelRacing my website for pictures and news about the car.

Thanks for furthering my addiction Mike!!!

Default No, thank YOU!

Glad to see that it has found a good home. I knew after talking with you a bit via email that you were a good buyer for it. Maybe one of these days I'll make it back up to MN to see it again in full rally gear!

Off a cliff? Well no, probably not since there arenít any cliffs in Minnesota (except on the shores of Lake Superior). Actually all I need are some new springs and a little suspension tweaking (and some mudflaps) and Iíll be able to hit the next RallyX coming up in mid-July. Canít wait to see how it handles on big dirt and mud roads.

Perhaps in a few years or whenever I get the car paid off and Iím buying my next Impreza (please let it be an STi 10!) Iíll retire this car to full Open class rally spec. Then it may really be a sight to behold! Iím thinking of a Groub B revival if this car goes rally. Anyone wanna see what a 400+hp turbocharged EJ25 can do??
