Default should i get a resonator put in?

I love my new stromung, but it's a little loud.
I set off 3 car alarms looking for parking in NYC yesterday.

I was thinking of getting a resonator put into the midpipe at a muffler shop.

How much will this cut the noise? the performance?
I was thinking a 2 or 36" would probably give me the best sound dampening while effecting the flow the least.

looking for input here.....have you done it? how'd it go? cost?

If you want to quiet the exhaust down, yes, a resonator will certainly do that for you. as for hurting performance, well, I really dont think you'll even notice.
A resonator isn't really restrictive. its a perforated pipe with sound deadening material surrounding it. gasses will flow right though.

example: a friend of mine has a tiburon GT6. it's pretty badass.

he's got headers, straight pipe, back to a Y, one resonator, and then back to a Y for the rest of the dual exhaust.

There's no cats, no mufflers, jut one resonator. It does make an amazing difference. When he gets on it, it's not really at all louder than some of the other guys running out there, except those with huge diameters of pipes with no cats and mufflers that increase sound output more than if they didn't have mufflers on. lol.

It'll do wonders, and I don't think you'll notice a performance decrease. You can get them in different sizes and lengths, so I would think that one from another would change the tone or depth a little more than another. But you can never know for sure.

You will get use to the noise, I was going to get a resonator when I put my stromung on..... I'm glad I put it off, it really isn't that loud, and I'm glad I didn't hack up my midpipe.

But thats just me. The first few days you feel like it is the loudest exhaust EVER!!!! but you get used to it.
Just my 2 cents.

it's not even that it's so loud it bothers me, i just don't want to be 'that guy' with the loud exhaust tooling around. I'm not trying to draw attention to myself....
