Jim, you can use them for both!
I personally have one installed in my WRX. I use it everyday, as well as for autocross. It keeps you planted in you seat for the twisty bits and on a long drive can easily be adjusted to keep you in your seat without felling restricted. It gives you 80 % of the holding power of a racing harness, without the hassle of installing a racing harness. More importantly, living with a racing harness day to day can be a chore. The CG Lock requires no drilling or modification to install. Not to mention that the CG Lock is half the cost of less expensive harnesses. The CG Lock is SCCA National Solo rules compliant. It might be nice to keep my a$$ from sliding around on the leather. I had to get leather to get the moonroof. My does subaru package everything? I grew up in Bay Shore, I'm in Dix Hills now.

guys I am going to give you another bump here
I purchased two CG-locks, primarily for a winter safety course I got took this weekend. I have to say, not only did the CG-locks keep my instructor and I stable during a spin. I felt it also helped me stay alert, upright, and in the correct seat position regardless of the bumps slides or spins. Not once did I feel like I was leaning on my left foot to keep my butt in the seat. The Cg-lock did all of that for me. |

Can the seat belt operate normally with this installed? Meaning will I have the ability to use my seatbelt like I would before the unit is installed and then when I need more stability, tighten it up? Or does the thing has to always be tight?

Hank, you can loosen and tighten at will... That is what makes it so versatile! Tighten up for the twisties and loosen a little for the long drive home! It does not directly affect how the seat belt works.
Hnd kla, glad they worked for ya! The CG Lock is a great inexpensive tool to keep you planted in your seat without any modifications to your interior and without endangering yourself with a poorly installed harness. After this week, the price goes up! So please, get them now as they won't be any cheaper than with us, right now!! Bryan www.JnJAssociates.biz |

I don't have any pictures handy at the moment. If you go to the Cg Lock site, they have a ton of pics...
