question about 2.5 rs

Does the 99 and 2000 2.5 rs have the same awd transmission as the wrx?
Does it come standard with lsd? if not are there aftermarket lsd's available for the 2.5 rs ? thanks!

Transmissions are completely different, only 00+ RS' have a rear LSD 99-prior were open

sure there's aftermarkets rear LSD's available and also aftermarket front LSD's, but to be honest you'd be better off buying a STi 6mt trans w/ front LSD and a rear LSD to match

your talking thousands of dollars here ,I cant remember how many thousands for a sti six speed though. 5k or so.
rear lsd-some folks swap a wrx rear dif and cv joints to get a lsd on my99 ,this is around a thousand dollars (much cheaper than sti six speed)
front dif -labor intensive project
you could get a my00+ tranny
I've been wondering about the PHANTOM lsd's but haven't seen much feedback on them,

exactly how much do you think an aftermarket LSD costs to buy and install?? last i checked quaifes were $800 and then labor to install them

p.s.: phantom LSD's are nothing more then a locker, they suck
