Default anyone have season pass to Jay Peak? or seen one

i'm wondering if they scan the pass, some have a barcode on them like killington & other places. no particular reason!!!!!

once in a while i see those people who get their tags scanned......im guessing thats what it is now...always had that feeling. Whats the purpose....just to make sure its real?

Call it a hunch... but my guess is willyb is looking to make a pass... just a hunch though.

The ski mountains scan passes for multiple reasons, the least of which is legitimacy. They collect all sorts of data from passes, especially some of the mountains I've been to out west. Think about it. It's huuuuge amounts of data. # of runs per day, time of first run, time of last run, where the people ski, what lifts they use, how long are runs taking them in different areas, etc. Combine this with ski patrol reports of trail conditions and you know how often you have to groom, what trails you can expect to staff more, where your bottlenecks are going to be....

It's an Industrial Engineers wet dream.

I can't see any good coming out of this. And I cannot condone ripping off one of the best, if not the best mountain in the East.
