Default changing of fluids at 30K

According to the maintenance schedule, at 30K the only fluid that needs to be changed is brake fluid?

Is this true? or shoul di do anything else?

You could do that, but it wouldn't hurt the car if you also changed transmission fluid and filter. I think the recomended interval for the tranie fluid is 60k, but if you drive it hard 30k change won't hurt.

At 30K you really should do:

Brake Fluid
Power steering fluid
Antifreeze
Tranny Fluid - there is no filter on the manual. If its an auto get a flush done.
Rear Diff
Engine Oil and filter
Boost Fluid....

I second everything except the PS fluid.

Check it, but no need to replace.

I also did Fuel Filter & PCV valve at 30K.

Not to slight any of the posters and their advice, but refer to the Bible and do what it says: http://www.subaru.com/owners/care/schedules/middle.jsp

I knew I was forgetting something....fuel filter and PCV...whoops....

And your not slighting anyone Unabomber. I just couldn't find that link. But it lists as inspecting the tranny fluid....don't really agree with that. Just replace it. And it doesn't mention the PCV system.

I don't think you'll find a PCV valve.

There's a PCV on the '02s and '03s. Did they remove it for '04?

Oh, and my PCV was like new, but on my buddies car, his PCV was gummy and would stick closed when I took it off.
